I am a graduate of Indiana University and hold degrees in nursing, psychology, and social work. I have been a registered nurse for nearly 40 years. As a nurse, we oftentimes function as psychologists, social workers, and various other professions as well. Such was the case when I worked as a school nurse for over 20 years working exclusively with children who have intense physical, medical, mental and emotional needs. Additionally, I worked with their families who also have issues, needs, and concerns of their own.

I have also worked in private practice for approximately 15 years. Solution focused therapy is future-focused, goal-oriented brief therapy; it places emphasis on a person's present and future goals rather than focusing on the past. The emphasis is on what is possible...what is changeable. We are each comprised of mind, spirit, and body. It is impossible to separate those entities; it is integrable...unifying. As both a Registered Nurse and Social Worker, I take into account the integrative experiences and am holistic in my therapeutic approach.

      Welcome to Main Street Counseling.   I am a graduate from Indiana University @ South Bend, and pursued my graduate studies from the University of Phoenix.  As a former Case Manager for 16 years in the child welfare industry, I have extensive experience in the legal and child welfare field.  I offer insight/education to adults, adolescents, and children.  My experiences target Couples Counseling, Behavioral Therapy (Youth and Family), and ways to utilize our life experiences, coping skills, and resources to find the answers we are looking for.

I approach my clients with teaching methods to cope and deal with the daily stressors we experience in life.  I offer a variety of services in multiple areas.  I have worked with families for 20 years of my career, including adolescents, youths, and couples.  I have the ability to educate and provide insight for my clients for them to gain knowledge and thrive in their current surrounding.       My experiences can assist in setting goals and objectives that can be reached and give one a sense of pride and self-worth in our journey to feeling whole about our self.   I look forward to the opportunity of sharing the experience of us working together and for you to reach your goals.
